Yellowstone Lake is North America's largest mountain lake: 20 miles long, 14 miles wide, and 430 feet deep at its deepest point. It reminded us of Lake Constance in the Alps--huge lake surrounded by beautiful mountains.
We spent time at Yellowstone Lake on the day we left the park. Then, we headed for the Tetons.
About a mile or two from the exit of the park, we encountered our only close bear sighting: A medium-sized black bear ran directly in front of the truck. Alan had to react quickly, swerving hard to avoid hitting it.
