Alan and I were part of  the 957,000 people who visited Yellowstone in July of 2010--the largest monthly total in the history of Yellowstone.  Except for some trouble getting campgrounds and seeing some of the more popular places, we really experienced little difficulty with the crowds.  It is a vast place, and the park service was wonderfully competent in every way.

If you aren't familiar with Yellowstone, you may want to look at the map below.  Be sure to use the Back button to return to the blog.
Map of Yellowstone

Logistics:

  1. To see pictures full screen, double click on the picture.  Use the Back button to return to the blog.  If you wait a second, it will bounce back to the place where you were on the "page."
  2. The easiest way to comment is to use the "anonymous" setting. You can always sign your name, of course.
  3. The blog is longer than one "page," so when you come to the end, you will need to click on Older Posts to see the entire blog.
